About CHIO Aachen & FEI
The World Equestrian Festival
CHIO Aachen (Concours Hippique International Officiel) is the world's largest
equestrian sporting event, held annually at the Allianz Park in Aachen, Germany.
Since 1933, the tournament has carried the official CHIO title awarded by the
Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the global governing body for equestrian sports.
The FEI oversees international competitions in show jumping, dressage, eventing,
driving, vaulting, and para dressage. Aachen's historic venue, with a tradition
dating back to 1898, hosts elite athletes from around the globe and welcomes
hundreds of thousands of spectators each summer.
In 2026, Aachen successfully hosted the FEI World Championships across six disciplines,
further cementing its reputation as the premier destination for equestrian excellence.
The CHIO Aachen 2027 continues this legacy as part of the World Equestrian Festival,
bringing together the finest horses and riders under FEI regulations.
